Joanne read my condensed version of The Big Living(<- link), the narrative of my experiences around the 'seizure events' which I posted to the blog after our last collaborators' meeting in October, and came up with something that this whole story seems to be yearning towards: namely, the concept of multiple realities which, in the end, become one inseparable cosmic whole. It was amazing to watch this and see that my 'script-bones' are coming to this same conclusion, and we have even independently come up with many of the same images to describe things.
Big Living/Big Dying is an ASL poem about three worlds. There is so much in here I would like to draw from! It's giving me tons of ideas already... thanks, Joanne!!
Chrystene thought it would be a good idea to post all of the demos and responses I have created for Kaleidocycle up here on the blog, so here are links to all five pieces that I have written and presented for the project so far. Hope you enjoy them!
"The Falling World" - The original music demo for the Globe Theater application
"Displacement" - A response to the writings Chrystene handed out at the first meeting
"Portal" - A response to Brendan's drawings and model
"Netherworld" - A piece I wrote for a cinematic orchestral album. I shared it at a Kaleidocycle meeting because it was influenced by Berny's film "Images Fail Me"
in response to Brendan's paintings seen earlier in this blog [link] Waterways [silent]
Paisley Roses [silent] Design by Chrystene Ells. Animated and movement added for visual reference. rough - should be spinning, not drifting, and should be much slower.
in response to Mark's writing: Words Fail Me Images Fail Me

Take 2 - one of the projectors kept stopping in second half of this video
Some things not apparent in the video recording of this projection performance:
reflections that hit on the walls or ceiling.
the disco ball effect where it was almost like the cow's mouth was consuming the scratches from the other film as it funneled into the frame.
some of the flicker [where it rolls dim and bright] comes from the fact that film is 24 frames per second and video is 29.97 [even video called "24P"], so the shutters never line up perfectly.
sometimes the video goes out of focus due to the auto focus not knowing what to do.
I cut out the couple times that the projector stuck and I had to re-thread the projector and start again.
Here's audio of just the projector. It's one minute long with a variety of stopping / starting / threading / swearing [link].
